Scripture: Galatians 5:16-26
"So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh... But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law."
Devotional:
The Christian life is not just about avoiding sin but about actively growing in godly character. Paul contrasts the works of the flesh with the fruit of the Spirit, reminding us that spiritual growth happens when we walk in step with God. The fruit of the Spirit is not something we achieve by striving but something that naturally develops as we remain connected to Christ.
Imagine a tree—it does not force itself to bear fruit; rather, it stays rooted in good soil, receives water, and basks in sunlight. In the same way, we bear spiritual fruit when we abide in Christ (John 15:5). This week, reflect on what it means to live by the Spirit and how you can cultivate these virtues in your life.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to walk by Your Spirit daily. I desire to bear fruit that glorifies You. Guide my heart and transform me from the inside out. Teach me to recognize areas where I need growth and surrender them to You. Amen.
