Week 10: Gentleness in a Harsh World
Share
Scripture: Proverbs 15:1
"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." — Proverbs 15:1
Devotional:
Gentleness is often misunderstood as weakness, but in reality, it is strength under control. Jesus, the King of Kings, displayed gentleness in the way He interacted with the broken, the outcast, and even His enemies. He spoke truth with love, corrected with kindness, and extended grace to those who least deserved it.
In a world that often values harshness and quick reactions, gentleness is a powerful witness of God’s love. When we respond with patience and kindness instead of anger or defensiveness, we reflect Christ’s heart. This week, seek to cultivate gentleness in your words, thoughts, and actions.
Prayer:
Father, help me to walk in gentleness, just as Jesus did. Teach me to respond with grace instead of frustration and to speak words that bring healing instead of hurt. May my gentleness be a reflection of Your love to those around me. Amen.
